Doctor’s Maid Dragged To Court

Thirteen-year-old Juliana Kamara, a pupil, thirty-one-year-old Mabinty Kamara, a businesswoman, and Ramatu Kamara, a trader, have been remanded at the Female and Juvenile Correctional Facility in Freetown by Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1. Freetown.

The trio faces two counts: conspiracy to commit a crime and larceny in a dwelling house, contrary to Section 13(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to court documents, between August and October 2024, at No. 1 Thompson Drive, Congo Cross, Freetown, the accused persons conspired with others to steal from the home of one Dr. Melvina Thompson.

The second count revealed that the accused entered Dr. Thompson’s residence and allegedly stole $10,600 (equivalent to Le 240,017,000), property of the medical practitioner.

No plea was taken during the court session. The accused were represented by lawyer Mohamed Yassin Conteh.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Jah refused bail and remanded them in custody. The matter was adjourned to 23rd July 2025.
