3 Accused Persons Face Assault Charges in High Court

Magistrate Mus tapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road Court No.1 has committed three accused persons,37-year-old Solomon Labbie, 32-year-old Abdul Kamara, and 65-year-old Olive Bendu, to stand trial before the High Court on allegations of assault.

According to the Particulars of Offence, the incident occurred on Saturday, 14th September 2024, at Kargbo Town, Goderich, in the Freetown Judicial District.

The Prosecution alleges that the trio assaulted Amidu Kamara, causing him actual bodily harm. During the Preliminary Inquiry, the charges were read and explained to the accused persons, but no plea was taken, as is standard procedure at the Magistrate Court level.

Delivering his ruling, Magistrate Jah stated that after assessing the evidence and listening to the Prosecution, he was satisfied that a prima facie case had been established against the accused. He therefore committed the matter to the High Court for trial.

Magistrate Jah further ordered that the accused continue on their current bail terms while awaiting the commencement of proceedings at the High Court.
