This department is. investigating a case of incitement, riotous conduct and disorderly behavior by some rioters who were involved in a violent demonstration in the capital city of Freetown that saw thousands of young people on the streets of Freetown following the hike in the prices of fuel products lower a month ago.
Sources from the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) have disclosed that Daryl Victor Wellington was allegedly spotted as a ring leader of the demonstration and he has been declared wanted by and the Law enforcement

According to the Public Affairs Department of the Sierra Leone Police through a press release signed by the
Inspector General of Police, that Daryl Victor Wellington was fully
involved in previous demonstrations and he is among the irate youths in the eastern part of Freetown, one of the populated part in the capital city, took to the streets in protest of the increase in the prices of petroleum product on the 28th March, 2022, making roadblocks and burning of tires on the Highway that runs through several communities in the east end of Freetown. Daryl Victor Wellington always incites young people to come out and demonstrate against “the State” for economic hardship in Sierra Leone.
Investigations was also mounted by the Police, revealed that Daryl Victor Wellington and other youths ran into riot with the police in many parts of the East end of Freetown which resulted in the arrest and charging
of several youths to court and many of them are now serving jail sentence, whist Daryl Victor Wellington who is the ring leader and other youths escaped to an unknown destinations.
It is an offense according to Section 4 (12) Cap 2 in the Criminal Procedure Act of 1965 of Sierra Leone that any person who involved in divulging secrete information illegally to destabilize the country will be prosecuted to life imprisonment.
Our investigations also revealed that police personnel have stormed the residence of Daryl Victor Wellington to effect his arrest on several occasion but proven futile. Daryl Victor Wellington has been declared wanted dead or alive by the police, and a handsome reward was offered to whosoever provides useful information that would lead to the arrest to his arrest.
Mean while, a warrant of arrest for Daryl Victor Wellington has been put in force by the Police while he has gone into hiding and his whereabouts is still unknown. His photos have been displayed at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters in Freetown and the Police are encouraging the general public to give any Vital information that will lead to his arrest.
