Afrimoney Launches Pyypl Visa Card

In a groundbreaking event set to make history in Sierra Leone, Afrimoney launched a new Visa Card Service, which is the Afrimoney Pyypl Visa Card which took place on the 1st of July 2024 at the New Brookfields Hotel in Freetown.
This event marks a significant milestone in the Company’s mission to provide secure and convenient Mobile Banking and seamless mobile money, and aims to transform financial services in Sierra Leone.
A representative from the Afrimoney welcomed all stakeholders, Ministers, and everyone to the launch of an exciting new partnership with Pyypl Visa Card, as this marks a Milestone for Afrimoney. He furthered that at Afrimoney, innovation and excellence are at the core of everything they do. “Over the past 5 years, our dedicated services team has worked tirelessly with our partners to develop solutions that we believe will redefine the fintech sector, Afrimoney Pyypl Visa Card represents the culmination of over commitment to quality, performance and customer satisfaction. This product launch is not only about introducing a new item to the market, but also about showcasing the future of digitalizing Sierra Leone’s financial sector.


“Afrimoney Pyypl Visa Card brings Comfort and Ease, setting a new standard for users as they rest easily knowing their purchases are protected.
“With the Pyypl Visa Card, you can use Afrimoney to load your Card and enjoy contactless payments in the stores or online, both (locally and internationally), and stay informed of your app usage with real-time notification on every transfer,” he maintained.

Minister of Communication Technology and Innovation, Salima Monorma Bah, expressed excitement for the progress Sierra Leone is making in Mobile banking and Visa Card. She rolled out the importance of mobile money services as a transformative development for Sierra Leone, making financial services accessible and Convenient.
“It is indeed an exciting day, and as a government whenever we see a private sector investing in such an initiative we are happy and look forward to the next one,” Minister Salima said.
Martison Obeng Agyei, Managing Director of Afrimoney, thanked everyone for their attendance and honoring their Invitations.


He mentioned that the essence of Mobile money is for people who do not have enough money to save, but have money to transact among themselves. Today, the partnership that they are going to launch is bringing mobile money and visa card together, he stressed, adding that the service that is provided for banking is being brought into one goal, allowing everybody to have access to services across the world without worrying about whether having a bank account or not, simply because of their mobile money wallet. He furthered that it is indeed a hard journey and they have been through this with people and are happy that this partnership has become a success.
He encouraged everyone to have a card and experience the individual process from consumer to business people, and see how it helps to bridge the gap between global marketers.
Chief Minister, David Moina Sengeh, expressed thanks and appriciation to everyone for taking part in such a wonderful event. It shows that it’s an interesting moment in the country. He expressed happiness for such an initiative, adding that there is a need for more of these initiative to help in the country’s development.
