Several Injured at Kissy Dock Yard
A bloody confrontation broke out at the Kissy Dock Yard community. According to sources, several residents were injured as tensions escalated over an alleged illegal land grabbing. The company at the center of the controversy is Al-Hamd, which has been accused of forcibly taking over land belonging to long-standing community members.
According to distressed victims and their families, this is not the first time Al-Hamd has been involved in such land controversy. “It’s his usual habit—he comes in, takes people’s property, and turns it into his own without any regard for the rightful owners,” one victim’s relative lamented. Several families claim they have documents proving ownership of the land, yet say they’ve been intimidated and sidelined. Reports indicate that Al-Hamd is allegedly working in collaboration with a Sierra Leonean national who is acting as a front man, selling out his own community for mere pittances.
The move has sparked outrage among locals who are now calling on the government and law enforcement agencies to intervene before the situation further get out of control.
Community leaders are also urging the Ministry of Lands and Country Planning to launch a full-scale investigation into what they describe as a “systematic and well-funded land-grabbing scheme” that threatens peace and property rights in Kissy Dock Yard.
Residents remain on edge that justice may once again be delayed, or denied.
