Macauley Observes Jummah Prayers in Port Loko
On Friday, 23rd May 2025, the leading presidential candidate of the All People’s Congress (APC), Ady Macauley, observed Jummah prayers in his hometown of Port Loko, a significant moment that drew widespread attention and support.

As a native son of Port Loko District, Ady Macauley was warmly welcomed by both Muslim and non-Muslim residents who gathered in large numbers to show their support and solidarity. The turnout was described by many as a powerful expression of unity and endorsement for Macauley’s bid for the APC flagbearer position ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Observers at the scene noted the electric atmosphere and described it as “breathtaking,” with many interpreting the moment as a divine sign.
“Allah has spoken,” one worshipper remarked, calling on the APC to heed the voices of the grassroots by choosing Ady Macauley as the party’s standard-bearer.
Among the crowd were individuals who had previously faced unjust arrests and court charges. They emotionally recounted how Ady Macauley’s timely interventions helped secure their release. Some, moved to tears, described him as a “champion of the grassroots,” highlighting his consistent advocacy for justice and fairness.
During a brief address, Macauley expressed gratitude for the warm reception and assured the people of Port Loko that he remains committed to serving their interests.
“I have heard your cries, and that is why I am contesting for the flagbearer position of the APC. This decision is not for my benefit alone but for the collective good of all,” he said.
He further shared his intention to meet with APC leaders in Port Loko but emphasized the importance of first connecting with the people.
“I thought it wise to meet my people first,” he added.
The ceremony concluded with a solemn prayer for the nation, marking an emotional and inspiring day in Port Loko.
