APC Publicity Secretary Undresses President Bio

The National Publicity Secretary of the All People’s Congress (APC), Sidi Yayah Tunis, in an interview has said the government of President Bio has failed to deliver after being in power for seven years.

“If you can stay in power for seven years and still blame the opposition for your failures as a government, then you are not fit for purpose,” he maintained.

Tunis recalled that when the APC came into power, they started working within the first 100 days and did not waste time blaming the past government.

“When we came in, within 100 days, we started transforming Sierra Leone,” he said. “We did not spend seven years blaming Ahmed Tejan Kabba. We went straight to work.”

He furthered that during the first term of Ernest Bai Koroma, Sierra Leone was a construction hub where construction projects was happening all across the country.

“During the first term of Ernest Bai Koroma, Sierra Leone was a construction hub there were construction projects happening across the country,” he stated.

“That is what governance is all about. You focus on solving problems rather than blaming your predecessor and that is why when you campaigned, you campaigned on the manifesto. You sold your manifesto to the people of this country, they bought it by voting you in and expected you to deliver on your manifesto, which you’ve failed to do.”

Tunis also noted that the government has failed to meet its own targets.

“You promised us 20% domestic revenue generation, and we are sitting at 9.2% after seven years,” he fumed. “Despite the fact that you boasted about having a $1.4 billion export, we only received $40 million, and you are still talking about 10%.”

He also pointed out that no donor has shut their doors on Sierra Leone.

“It is practical that when Sierra Leone approaches elections, development countries suspend their activities during the election period. After elections, they clearly expect a change of government. So, of course, they suspend their programs until after elections and later bring back their programs.” the APC Publicity Secretary stated.

He said that the APC had a record of accomplishments.

“We had a track record of performance,” he said. “Potholes in the city were things of the past, but now they are happening in the present.”
