-Deputy Chairman
In a bid to console and encourage its members and supporters, the Deputy Chairman of the All People’s Congress(APC) Party, Amb. Dr Osman Foday Yanseneh has told the party’s faithful that the APC is the only hope for Sierra Leone.
He was speaking at a mammoth gathering at the party’s headquarters on Railway line Brookfields in Freetown. Ambassador Dr. Yanseneh affirmed that under the APC lots of infrastructural development such as road construction and reliable electricity supply nationwide even in the SLPP’s strong holds in the south-east was undertaken by the former President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma.
The Deputy Chairman further recalled that during APC’s eleven (11) years rule there was relative peace and national cohesion. He assured them that come 2028, the APC party will bounce back to power on a clean election slate.
He encouraged them to be law abiding and refrain from unlawful protest and demonstration. He also called on members and supporters to exhibit unity amongst themselves. ‘’This is not the time for disunity amongst ourselves. A divided house will not stand. We must send the message to our political opponents that we are a united party,’’ Amb. Dr. Yanseneh cautioned.
He further sensitized party faithful on the work of the Tripartite Committee, adding that its mandate is to examine and make recommendations on the country’s electoral systems that would end political violence and foster unity and national cohesion amongst Sierra Leoneans.
The APC Deputy Chairman also advised them to refrain from misinformation and hate messages on social media. ‘’This is not good for the country and the reputation of innocent people. It will rather divide us and cultivate seed of hatred,’’ he avowed.
