Prince Coker APPA Chairman
On Thursday 24th August, 2023, during a press briefing held at the conference room of the All Political Party Association (APPA) offices at 49 Bathurst Street, Freetown, the Chairman of the institution, Mr. Prince Coker, said that the said Press Conference was to give their take on the just concluded 24th July elections.
The Chairman of the All Political Party Association, Mr. Prince Coker, expressed his concerns that APPA, as a political entity, has not come out with any update after the election, but the organizational body has collectively brought out this press briefing to make their general position on the just concluded June 24th election and the current issue of the boycott of the 6th Parliament by the All People’s Congress.
He expressed happiness in having a fine building, big offices and a well-furnished conference room to host press briefing, and assured the public that every political party in APPA-SL took sides in the elections, including the Presidency. He maintained that the association is open to discussions on any issue pertaining to regulation of their members.
Sectary General of the All Political Party Association (APPA), Mr. Ibrahim Sorie Sesay, read out the press release, stating the Association participated in the election and recognize the June 24 Election as transparent, inclusive and peaceful. He furthered that the Association also commended ECSL for a good job, and also will like to take the opportunity to congratulate His Excellency Rtd Julius Maada Bio for his re-election. He also stated that the APPA is ready to work with the President for the development of the nation and are proud that there are no reports of Gender Based Violence. APPA, he said, also commend the International Observers for their credible job in the June 24 Election, adding that the Association takes this opportunity to thank all Sierra Leoneans for their participation in the election, and encouraged every citizen to be law abiding, patriotic and contribute to the development of Mama Salone. He disclosed that the APPA Executive have tried to engage the APC opposition party on several dialogues, and are still calling on them to reverse their decision of boycott and cooperate in the governance of the state.
