Big North-West Peace Concert Underway

The International Day of Peace, also officially known as World Peace Day, is a United Nations sanctioned holiday observed annually on 21 September. It is dedicated to world peace, and specifically the absence of war and violence, such as might be occasioned by a temporary ceasefire in a combat zone for humanitarian aid access. The celebration was first established in 1981 and first observed in September 1982 and is kept by many nations, political groups, military groups, and people.
In commemorate this year’s International Peace Day, the 2023/2024 national peace message competition award winner, Ambassador Francis Patterson, who is the Deputy Regional coordinator of the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion will be coming up with his peace concert with the theme: “Cultivating the Culture of Peace. Sustainable Peace in Sierra Leone is a must.”
The symbolic event will take place at the newly refurbished Port Loko District Council Hall on Saturday, 21st September, 2024 at 3:00PM prompt.
The brain behind the peace concert is no less a person but Ambassador Francis Patterson. He disclosed to this medium that he decided to choose the Resident Minister of North-West, Hon. Ambassador Bond Wurie as the guest of honour and the keynote speaker for the event because of his commitment to peace in Sierra Leone.
“Before my appointment as the Deputy Regional Coordinator for North-West region, Hon. Ambassador Bond Wurie has been tremendous in promoting peace in Sierra Leone restlessly.” Ambassador Francis Patterson stated.
He further said the peace concert is an all-white event because white symbolizes peace and that the event will feature musicians across the North-West region. He concluded by calling on the people in North-West region to be part of this historic event and say yes for peace in Sierra Leone.
