Lands Ministry Vows to Fight On
By Ahmed Papa Kanu.
The Professional Head and Director of Surveys in the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, Mr. Tamba S. Dauda, continues to expose a wave of fake and forged land documents that have found their way into the system. This disturbing discovery is not just a matter of concern for the Ministry alone, but for the entire country, as it undermines public trust, fuels land disputes, and threatens peace and stability. According to Mr. Dauda, many individuals are currently holding onto forged land titles and documents, some of which have been used to unlawfully claim or occupy state and private lands.
He emphasized that his team, working diligently within the Ministry, will fight on and they are committed to verification and authentication of all land-related papers to ensure that only genuine documents are recognized. The Ministry of Lands has therefore urged all landowners, developers, and potential investors to present their documents for scrutiny and validation, warning that anyone found with falsified documents will face the full force of the law. Mr. Dauda reassured the public that the Ministry will continue to protect state lands, uphold the integrity of property ownership, and restore confidence in the country’s land administration system.
