As SLPP Grassroots become Disgruntle…

SLPP Office Abandoned

Supporters of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) have expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs under President Bio’s leadership. Many who worked tirelessly and made significant sacrifices to ensure the SLPP return to power feel disillusioned, claiming their expectations remain unmet.

It could be recalled when the SLPP won the election, its supporters anticipated meaningful changes, opportunities, and recognition for their efforts. Instead, they now lament what they describe as “suffer posh” a term used to express silent suffering and unfulfilled promises. Some believe their sacrifices have gone unnoticed, with many alleging that key stakeholders in the party have distanced themselves from grassroots supporters and the party’s core structures.

Even among those fortunate enough to get political appointments, there is dissatisfaction. Several appointees feel constrained, unable to voice their concerns or influence decisions in a way that aligns with their vision for the party and the country.

Supporters at the community level say the current system has left them worse off than those affiliated with the opposition All People’s Congress (APC). Many party offices are reportedly abandoned by stakeholders, leaving a sense of neglect and a lack of direction.

This growing discontent among the SLPP’s base poses a challenge for the party as it seeks to consolidate its power and fulfill campaign promises. If left unaddressed, these grievances could erode trust and loyalty within its ranks, making it difficult to maintain unity and momentum for future elections.
