Prior to the commencement of the Bo District Division 1 football competition on Sunday 6, August 2023, Executive Chairman of Bo Rangers FC Babadi Kamara gave a huge boost to the District FA to ensure the effective running of the competition.

Making the presentation on behalf of Mr Babadi Kamara, Mohamed Conteh (M’prime) and Mamoud Javombo, Bo Rangers Fan Club Secretary General and Public Relations Officer respectively handed over to the Bo District FA Chairman Mr Abdul Ahmed Bangura 120 footballs, a brown new laptop computer and a cash price of Twenty Million (old Leones).

While presenting the items Mohamed Conteh noted, “we’ve been sent by Mr Babadi Kamara to deliver this support for the running of the league.

“Upon his instructions, the 120 footballs are to be shared among all 12 Division 1 teams in the district, with each to receive 10 balls. In addition he gave the sum of Le 20 Million Leones for the running of the league. Again, being a man that believes in administration, he gave a new HP Laptop Computer which can be used for administrative purposes,” he said.

While receiving the items on behalf of the District Executive, Chairman of the Bo District Football Association Abdul Ahmed Bangura profoundly thanked Mr Babadi Kamara for the support which he described as timely. He then assured of using all items received for its intended purposes.

“On behalf of my executive, I want to thanked Chairman Babadi, his executive and the fan club. To some of us his philanthropic drive and support towards this game is no longer a novelty. We continue to pray that the almighty God guide, protect and direct him accordingly.

“This has been our cry all this while and this timely intervention from chairman Babadi speaks volume. No doubt this man is a great blessing to this nation.

“Finally I want to promise that all items delivered to the District FA will be used accordingly and judiciously,” he assured.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Conteh and Mamoud Javombo challenged the the District FA and all first division teams in the region to strive hard to ensure that another premier league team emerge from the region as Bo Rangers is the only premier league team representing the region which they noted is not so for all other regions. They therefore urged clubs to use the tournament to change the narrative. This they say is also the desire of Babadi Kamara as he believes in the transformation and expansion of the game across the country.

Already, all 120 footballs have been distributed among all 12 participating Division 1 clubs in the district. The Bo District Football Association (BoDFA) Division 1 Preliminary Play-Off which successfully commenced on Sunday is currently in progress with matches been played daily at the Bo Coronation Field.
