The Philanthropist and Bo Rangers FC Executive Chairman, Babadi Kamara, has made a significant contribution to the Kailahun District Football Association Inter-Chiefdom Football Competition with One Hundred and Fifty Thousand New Leones (NLe 150,000) as the Chief Sponsor.
The generous donation was warmly received by the people of Kailahun and will greatly benefit the development of football in the District.
During the Grand Opening Ceremony at the Kailahun Mini Stadium on Saturday, November 9th, 2024, Babadi Kamara was joined by a delegation of prominent football stakeholders, across the country including; District and Regional Football Association Chairmen, Executive members from various Districts and Regional Football Associations, sports journalists, and influential figures in the football fraternity. The presence of these individuals highlighted the importance of Babadi’s contribution to the tournament.
During the short visit to the Paramount Chief of Luawa Chiefdom, PC Mohamed Sama Kailondo Banya lV Babadi underscored his commitment to supporting sports development in Kailahun and by extension the country. He acknowledged the significance of providing young people with opportunities to showcase their talent and stay engaged in positive activities, such as football, to steer clear of negative influences like drug abuse.
The PC Mohamed Sama Kailondo Banya IV applauded Babadi Kamara for his support of the Inter-Chiefdom Football Competition and recognized the role of football in promoting unity and peace among communities. He urged his constituents to use the tournament as a platform for coming together and fostering harmony.
Speaking to fans at the Kailahun Mini Stadium, Babadi reiterated the importance of using football as a tool for peace and encouraged youth to avoid violence and substance abuse. During this he announced an additional Nle 50,000 from the initial NLe 100,000, bringing the competition sponsorship total to Nle 150,000, and also presented 50 footballs to participating teams to further enhance the competition.
Chairman of the Kailahun District Football Association, Foday Anthony, expressed his gratitude to Babadi Kamara for his generous support towards the competition, noting that Babadi’s commitment to football development in the region is commendable.
