It was an exciting moment for the pupils of St. Anthony Boys School and the Congo Town Municipal School when the founder of the Bangura Foundation, Mr. Ishmael Bangura announced that his Foundation will offer scholarships to vulnerable pupils.
Addressing the pupils, Mr. Ishmael Bangura admonished them to take their education seriously as education is one of the keys to success. He said as a former pupil of St. Anthony Boys School he worked very hard to attain his current status. Mr. Bangura called on the pupils to be disciplined and respect their teachers as teachers are the pillars to achieving greatness.
He said those who will benefit from the scholarships are pupils who are doing well in school and come from poor homes. He added that those who will be selected based on the Foundation’s criteria will benefit from learning materials such as exercise books, pens, etc, etc.
Mr. Bangura told them he attended the St. Anthony Boys School while his late father attended the Congo Town Municipal School. He expressed gratitude to his former teachers for instilling discipline in him which has changed his narrative.
He said the Bangura Foundation will also undertake awareness campaigns and crisis response, youth leadership development, advocacy and policy engagement, community development projects, capacity building and community engagement.
The Foundation’s values are equity, integrity, empowerment, innovation, partnership, diversity, impact driven, respect, accountability, community oriented and courage.
