-Citizens Raise Concerns

The much talked about the construction of the Lungi Bridge since President Bio took over the reins of governance is yet to achieved. It is six years on under the Bio-led government the people of Sierra Leone have started asking pertinent questions when this trumpeted public relations work would come to fruition.
The concerned citizens say talks of a deal being reached to finally construct the bridge linking Port Loko to Freetown becoming a reality would be like the Tomabum and Gbondapi Rice Projects which are white elephants. They also note that the ‘Feed Salone’ project are “419 projects” that will only benefit those in power, and not the people of Sierra Leone who should be the sole beneficiaries of the said projects.
‘This Lungi bridge project, much like the other unnecessary and wasteful projects this regime has unfolded will only benefit those in power. We don’t see what the people stand to gain in the meantime. To tell you that these projects are big talks, where are the starting signs? Where is the Chinese commitment that they will support our ‘Feed Salone’ project? I know that China is very serious about agriculture so let them commit themselves to Bio’s ‘Feed Salone’ flagship project. If we need over $800 million for ‘Feed Salone’ and over a $US1 billion for the Lungi Bridge, where will President Bio get these monies from,’’ one of the concern citizens asked?
Another concern citizen said that the loans for these projects will be huge debts for generations yet unborn.
Additionally, some of the citizens that commented on the Lungi Bridge project say the projects including the ‘Feed Salone‘ project are cash cow projects that will help the current government to over stay in power and continue to steal election results.
Posing a very serious question to this medium, the concerned citizens asked for updates on the free quality education project, the Anti-Corruption and the financial leakages
