‘’Bravura Mining Company will Bring Capital Development to Sierra Leone’s Mining Sector’’

— Says Country Representative

In a bold move aimed at transforming Sierra Leone’s mining industry and creating long-term national impact, Bravura Mining Company has reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment and capacity building.

The company’s Country Representative, Fasally Tarawally has declared that Bravura is not just in Sierra Leone to extract minerals but to build a legacy by empowering future leaders in mining and related fields.

A Legacy of Strategic Investment in Africa

Bravura Holdings Ltd, the parent company of Bravura Mining Sierra Leone, is a multinational mining firm with operations in several African countries including Zimbabwe, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Zambia. The company has gained international recognition for its responsible mining practices, investment in local communities, and sustainable development initiatives.

Bravura entered Sierra Leone with a long-term vision—to invest in the country’s vast mineral wealth while ensuring that local communities benefit socially, economically, and environmentally.

Focusing on the Next Generation

Speaking at a recent engagement with community stakeholders and youth representatives in the Northern Province, Mr. Tarawally emphasized the company’s mission beyond resource extraction.

“Bravura is not just mining for today; we are mining for the future. Our investment includes building human capital—training young engineers, geologists, and environmental scientists who will be the next generation of leaders in Sierra Leone’s mining sector,” Tarawally noted.

He revealed that the company has already launched internship and apprenticeship programs in partnership with local universities and technical institutes. These programs are designed to expose students to modern mining techniques, health and safety standards, and environmental management protocols.

Community-Centered Development

In addition to its focus on education, Bravura has undertaken several community development projects in its operational areas. These include the rehabilitation of rural roads, the provision of clean water, and the construction of health outposts and school blocks. The company has also provided hundreds of jobs to locals, thereby helping reduce youth unemployment in mining communities.
