In a drive to curshioning the effects encountered by sport officials especially Team Managers while trying to manage their various teams, a sport philanthropist has on Sunday 16th June, 2024, at the Kamakwie Town Field concluded a donation to Sella Stars FC, Ashley FC, Young Stars FC and Celtic FC based in Karene District.
The donation ceremony brought together key stakeholders that are in the helm of affairs of football administration including cross section of executive members of the aforementioned teams, players, the media and fans in which all the four teams received a ball and five hundred new Leones. “I am honoured and impressed with the massive improvement these teams have demonstrated over the years and the current peak of Sella Stars FC one of the oldest constructive teams in the district and the structural acumen emulated by the new emerging teams within a short while, means the future of the district’s football is a one to reckoned with” Brima Turay affirmed
Though the economic situation of the country is nothing good to write home about but we need to give back to society cannot be over emphasized especially in a newly established district that wants to be alongside with other districts “This donation is to support them on the ongoing Karene District division two football competition especially to help them in buying water and other minor expenses. I know it is not enough and it could never be enough but I want to crave on your indulgence to use them appropriately. It is not that I have forgotten the existence of other teams but the limited resources are hindering my aspiration but I will always hold you to high esteem when the need arises” he explained.
