In recognition of his exceptional leadership and commitment to sports development, the Attouga Stadium Sports Association (ASSA) has honored Brima Sorie Turay with the prestigious title of Best Sports Administrator in Sierra Leone. The ceremony, was held at the Attouga Stadium complex, which brought together athletes, coaches, sports officials, and fans to celebrate awardees including BST, a man whose influence has been instrumental in shaping sporting excellence.
Brima Sorie Turay has long been admired for his dedication to sports administration, especially while he’s serving as a Board Member of the 2024/25 Leone Rock Premier League, ensuring that athletes and teams are provided with the structures and opportunities necessary to thrive. His leadership has been marked by transparency, inclusivity, and innovation, all of which have contributed to building stronger sporting communities.
Speaking during the presentation, representatives of the association praised Turay for his unwavering commitment to the growth of both grassroots and professional sports. They highlighted his role in organizing competitions, strengthening administrative frameworks, and fostering a spirit of unity among stakeholders. Even though, he was not there to receive the award.
In his response, “Turay expressed gratitude for the honor, describing it as not only a personal achievement but also a collective victory for everyone working to elevate sports in Sierra Leone. He reaffirmed his commitment to continue promoting discipline, teamwork, and excellence across all sporting disciplines” he accounted to this medium.
