Communities Along Sierra Leone Rail Corridor Rally in Support of LRMG Amid Allegations by Arise IIP

In a powerful display of unity and solidarity, communities along the Rail corridor in Pepel, Kamasondo Chiefdom, Port Loko district, Sierra Leone, recently gathered to protest and express their unwavering support for Leone Rock Metal Group’s subsidiary company, Kingho Railway and Port. The event aimed to refute allegations made by Arise IIP, underlining the genuine backing these communities have for LRMG and showcasing the positive impact the company has had on the region.

The gathering, attended by esteemed individuals and community stakeholders, served as a platform for voices to be heard. Among the participants were the North West resident minister, Regent paramount chief PC Kombra Bai Lawyer, chiefdom speaker, town chiefs, landowners, Kamasondo youths, Pepel community policemen, women organizations, paramount chiefs, and other community stakeholders.

PC Bai Forkie Fenka, addressing the crowd, highlighted the significant contribution LRMG has made to the local economy. He emphasized that the company currently employs over 5,000 Sierra Leoneans, with further employment opportunities expected as LRMG continues to expand. He praised LRMG for its forward-thinking expertise and recent developments, such as the acquisition of a shipping vessel named Leone Fortune, which symbolizes the prosperity and opportunities LRMG brings to Sierra Leone.

The gathering concluded with all present reading and signing a gratitude and solidarity letter addressed to His Excellency President Bio, further demonstrating their unwavering support for LRMG. Paramount chiefs also signed a petition to President Bio, expressing their concerns about the deception perpetrated by Arise IIP and affirming their support for the railway and port agreement with Kingho Railway and Port.

The letter and petition denounced the alleged misrepresentation and deceit by Arise IIP, describing it as a grave injustice against the Railway and Port Communities. It detailed how the communities had been appalled by the company’s attempts to manipulate the truth and distort their reality. The signatories stood united in their rejection of Arise IIP’s false claims and deceptive practices.

The communities expressed their trust and support for President Bio and the government’s decision to approve the railway and port agreement with Kingho Railway and Port. They emphasized that this landmark agreement has brought unprecedented progress to their communities, ushering in a new era of sustainable development, increased youth employment, and robust local economic growth.

Under the stewardship of Kingho Railway and Port, the communities have witnessed flourishing prosperity, with tangible benefits that have eluded them for far too long. The injection of vitality into the local economy has provided employment opportunities for the youth and created a path towards long-awaited development.

During the rally, participants held placards and protested against Arise IIP, emphasizing their firm stance against the company’s deceptive actions and their unwavering support for LRMG and the railway and port project.

The gathering served as a powerful testament to the resilience and unity of the communities along the Rail corridor, while also sending a clear message of support to LRMG and their commitment to progress and sustainable development in Sierra Leone.
