APC Can Still Defeat SLPP
Now that the stakes are high, concerning the June 24, multi-tier elections, there is much talk and speculation about the possibility of President Bio losing the election to the APC flag-bearer, Dr. Samura Kamara, especially with the ongoing economic situation creating an unprecedented hardship on the people, never before experienced in the country.
Despite moves by the ruling SLPP to form an alliance with the NGC, the fact is that the APC party is on top of things. A mere visit over the weekend of Dr. Samura Kamara to Kambia, has sent shocking waves through the spine of the government, and his triumphant entry into the District virtually dismantles all the alleged gains the SLPP has been peddling on the media.
The hardship in the country is increasing by the day, with no sign of abating. The government has failed to actualize the much talked about bread and butter issue, and people are finding it very difficult to put food on the table, and this has prompted people across the entire country to show the Bio administration the exit door.
Even in its stronghold, the people of the south-east are disappointed with the Paopa government, which they amply displayed during the voter registration process by refusing to go and register, and had to be forced to do so by the declaration of lockdown of the entire 3 districts. Even that almost resulted in a disaster, as people refused to go, and had to be forcefully taken onboard government vehicles to the registration centres. Many are annoyed that the promised good life that President Bio assured them of during his campaign, turned out to be false.
