President Bio Will Not Hand Over Power to Dr. Samura

In recent days, growing misinformation has been circulating both online and within communities suggesting that Dr. Samura Kamara will soon be declared the next President of Sierra Leone, and that President Julius Maada Bio is preparing to hand over power. These claims have been dismissed as baseless and misleading.

Observers describe this narrative as a deliberate attempt to deceive the public, undermine state institutions, and create confusion within the democratic space. Political analysts argue that such propaganda is not only dangerous but also threatens national peace, stability, and the integrity of Sierra Leone’s democratic processes.

The so-called “electoral justice” claims have been labeled a scam by credible voices, stressing that Sierra Leone has a constitutionally established system of governance, and any transfer of power can only take place through lawful elections, as enshrined in the 1991 Constitution. Until then, President Bio remains the legitimate and sitting Head of State.
