Orange (SL) Showcases 2025 Achievements

It was like a marriage of convenience between the local media and Orange Sierra Leone Ltd. the leading mobile operator in the country on 6th February, 2026, at the Orange Digital Center on Hill Station, Freetown.

In her opening statement, the Chief Executive Officer of Orange (SL) Ltd., Madam Aicha Toure said that one of her priorities is to enhance digital inclusion in a bid to expand digital knowledge, translate opportunities for Sierra Leoneans, adding further that cyber protection is also high on her list.

Madam Toure maintained that another key priority is to listen to customers concerns so as to make informed decision which could lead to trust.

She expressed delight on the intimate and proactive partnership between the media and Orange Sierra Leone.

In one of the presentations, a senior staff of Orange maintained that the Company in 2025 invested in the following areas: Network investment NLe568 million; sponsorship NLe1.8 million; Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) NLe8.2 million; regulatory fees to NaTCA NLe159 million; invested 29% on its network last year.

Orange however, pointed out that operating taxes continue to increase on a yearly basis due to Customs Tariffs.

Orange assured the media and its customers that this year they plan to erect 58 Sites across the country, adding that plans are also underway to solarize their sites in remote rural areas.

Among other achievements the Company maintained that they assisted many vulnerable children including innovators. It continued that Orange supported digital learning opportunities and al.so distributed digital tool kits to deserving young people.

In the area of health, the Company engaged in a robust breast cancer awareness sensitization nationwide; built a maternity center in York Village, implemented Early Childhood Development school projects in rural communities where 300+ beneficiaries benefited from.

The Company said in the not too distant future Orange Digital Centres would be established in Makeni and Bo.

It recalled further that they have been monitoring and auditing compliance regarding the environment; raising environmental awareness; participated in Beach cleaning in partnership with the National Tourist Board (NTB) and community engagements.

On human touching points, an effective Call Centre operates on 24/7 basis which was utilized by 80% of their customers while shop centres were patronized by 13% of their customers.

The Company further intimated its audience that they have a Zero Corruption which should reported by dialing 505 and scam alert to track down potential scammers by dialing 999#.

Orange Sierra Leone one of the innovative ideas implemented by the Company is dubbed ‘My Customer My Boss’.

Speaking at the event, the Minister of Information and Civic Education Chernor Bah commended Orange Sierra Leone for its farthest coverage in remote villages while also praising the Company for its sustained partnership with the people of Sierra Leone.

Chernor Bar commonly known as Cee Bah said the media tells the full stories, noting that the media can shape the narrative and make a society stronger. ‘’No serious society can survive without the media,’’ Cee Bah unequivocally stated.

Independent Media Commission Executive Secretary, Khalil Kallon said effective communication rely on trust and collaboration, adding that the media plays a connecting role in the wider society and it could shape the way citizens communicate and participate in national discourse.
