FORMER SLPP MINISTERS CRY FOUL

All is not well in the SLPP.  For a political party that just won the presidential elections this medium has been informed by members of the party that certain former ministers in the former government under President Bio are presently crying foul for being overlooked or replaced for the president’s final term.

It is reported that many of those who allegedly enriched themselves at the expense of the state and people that were not retained for the second term are complaining of their ill-treatment by the president.

‘Last term President Bio was under obligation to a lot of people. He created job opportunities for many of them. He even created and divided many ministries all in the name of creating jobs for the people. Sadly, many of these people failed the president. Many of them were caught with their hands in the government cookie jar. The audit reports on the SLPP regime from 2018 would show you that many of such people did not make it back to the president’s new cabinet,’ our sources say.

It must be stated here that President Bio was able to convince the people of Sierra Leone to elect him in 2018 because he promised to get rid of the corruption, financial leakages and lawlessness that continue to render the country broke and unable to feed itself.

‘Imagine that the president was appointed on such a platform, and now imagine that instead of making the difference the men and women he hired according to the auditor general succeeded in making the past government the most corrupt on record. The president had to break away from such people. Their idea of bread and butter economics was for them and their friends and families. For the lip service they gave the president and for the embarrassment, he dropped them and they are now crying foul,’ they informed Daybreak.

According to our sources such people should desist from castigating the president as ‘they might be handed over to the ACC for prosecution for their financial activities on behalf of the state for which the state benefitted nothing’ we were informed.

From the look of things President Bio for his second term is looking at really doing the people’s work; and his new team more than points to this reality. Sadly, members of the public have said they wished President Bio had dropped such people off last term, adding that such action would have vindicated the president from allegations of complicity in corruption by saying people should present proof of their alleged corruption before he can take action against them.

‘President Bio was defending them even though he shouldn’t have. But he has done the needful and we now have a new and regionally balanced cabinet to boast of,’ according to one of our sources.
