– Says Minister Chernor Bah
Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah has said government will continue to be transparent with the investigation around the suspected drug incident involving a Sierra Leonean diplomatic vehicle in Guinea.
Speaking at AYV’s Wake Up Salone show on Monday morning, the Minister recounted the transparent steps government has already taken.
“So far we have been very transparent with the public, we have shared all the information Guinean authorities have given us with our public regarding the incident. We will continue to do so because of the trust and confidence people have in government,” he said.
Minister Bah said the government will not stand for anyone who will want to tarnish the reputation of the country.
“President Bio has worked too hard to rebrand the name of this country and his government will not stand for anyone who will want to tarnish that image that he has spent six years to build,” he said.
Last week the government recalled its Ambassador to Guinea to return to Freetown and shed light on the situation. Government has launched a full blown investigation, and it has committed to give frequent updates on the issue.
The Minister said Sierra Leone over the years has invested in building strong systems around its borders and the airport, one of the major reasons why drug traffickers cannot use Sierra Leone as a route.
