Hon. Ahmed Kargbo, Member of Parliament for Constituency 064, officially launched the construction of a new clock tower in Kamakwie. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by community leaders, local stakeholders, and key political figures, including Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh, Deputy Chairman of the All People’s Congress (APC), who also delivered a statement at the event.
The clock tower project is expected to serve as a historic landmark, symbolizing unity, progress, and development in Kamakwie.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Kargbo expressed his commitment to fostering infrastructural growth in the region, emphasizing that such initiatives contribute to the town’s modernization and economic potential.
During the event, several stakeholders took the opportunity to appeal to President Julius Maada Bio’s government to prioritize the long-overdue construction and rehabilitation of the Kamakwie road. They highlighted the challenges residents face due to poor road conditions, which continue to hinder trade, transportation, and overall development in the district.
The event was marked by enthusiasm and support from the local community, who see the clock tower project as a step toward a brighter future. However, their calls for improved road infrastructure remain a crucial concern, with hopes that the government will take swift action to address the pressing need.
