Hon. Ibrahim Koroma Donates NLe70,000 Worth of Building Materials

Hon. Ibrahim Koroma from Kenema District has made a significant donation of over NLe70,000 worth of construction materials to support development projects in Famajo Section, Gorama Mende Chiefdom. The materials, which included bags of cement, paints, and whitewash, were allocated to various key locations such as Lamgurama Town Barry, Punduru Ataya Base (new construction), Simbaru Town Barry, Manjedo Town Barry, Fomaya Town Barry, and Ngogbedehun Town Barry (new construction).

The donation aims to rehabilitate and enhance community structures, fostering growth and development in the region.

In his statement, Hon. Ibrahim expressed his gratitude to the community, traditional leaders, and stakeholders, stating, “I am deeply thankful for the support and trust you have shown me. Together, we have embarked on a journey of progress and transformation.” He emphasized the importance of unity, respect, and peace, highlighting these as the cornerstones of sustainable development. He added, “Let us work together, regardless of political affiliations, to ensure that our chiefdom continues to thrive. My commitment to serving you remains steadfast, and I promise to deliver on my responsibilities with honesty and transparency.”

Hon. Ibrahim also recalled his previous contributions, which included donating construction materials for infrastructure improvement. He commended the efforts of local leaders and community members, noting that: “The collaboration between chiefs, youth leaders, and women’s groups have been instrumental in achieving our shared goals. Together, we can overcome challenges and create a brighter future for everyone.” Addressing specific issues, he noted the logistical obstacles faced by communities like Simbaru and Manjedo, stressing the need for collective efforts to improve road conditions and access to essential services.

Acknowledging the dynamics of political leadership, Hon. Ibrahim called for mutual support and fairness, reminding the community of the advice he received from President Bio: “Actions speak louder than words. Let us remain focused on delivering tangible results for our people.” He shared updates on ongoing development projects and pledged continued support, reiterating his dedication to addressing the needs of his constituents.

The event also featured remarks from Ag. PC Kekura M. Gbanie, the Chiefdom Speaker, praised Hon. Ibrahim’s leadership and contributions. He remarked, “Leadership is a divine calling, and Honorable Ibrahim Koroma has demonstrated exceptional dedication to our community. Let us continue to support him and foster unity for the common good.” Reflecting on the peace and progress within the chiefdom, Kekura Gbanie urged the people to embrace collaboration, emphasizing that “peace is the foundation of development.” He highlighted specific contributions by Hon. Ibrahim, such as donations which have significantly impacted the community.

Chiefdom Mining Chairman, Umaru Koroma also addressed the gathering, focusing on the importance of sustainable mining practices. He urged miners to comply with environmental and legal standards, stating, “Proper licensing and adherence to regulations are essential for responsible mining. Let us balance development with environmental conservation to secure the future of our community.” He called for government support in strengthening mining oversight and ensuring compliance with laws, emphasizing the need for resources such as safety equipment and uniforms for the mining task force.


The event was concluded with heartfelt expressions of gratitude from community leaders, youth representatives, and residents. The Chief of the section, the youth leader of Punduru Town, and the councillor collectively praised Hon. Ibrahim’s efforts, noting, “His work has brought immense benefits to Famajo Section and strengthened the bond between him and the people he serves.” They lauded his commitment to improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life in the area, describing him as a leader who prioritizes the needs of his constituents.

In his closing remarks, Hon. Ibrahim reaffirmed his vision for sustainable development and unity. He encouraged the community to remain focused on progress, stating, “The foundation we lay today will pave the way for future generations to rise as leaders, whether as ministers, commissioners, or even presidents.
