Hon. Wuyatta Songa Debunks Allegations of interfering in Criminal Matters

Honourable Wuyatta Songa, a member of the Sixth Parliament representing the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), has clarified allegations that she was involved in influencing or obstructing a criminal case involving one of her staff members, Barbar Massaquoi. The allegations had raised concerns about her integrity, but Hon. Songa has strongly denied any involvement in such actions.

In a public statement, Hon. Songa clarified that she has never in her life conceived the idea of influencing any legal matter, let alone engaging in such behavior. She expressed her deep commitment to maintaining a high standard of ethics and transparency, adding that her reputation as a member of parliament is of utmost importance to her.

Hon. Songa emphasized that being an elected representative comes with great responsibility, particularly in upholding a track record of honesty and accountability. She noted that her role as a parliamentarian is to serve the people with integrity, and she has always been dedicated to ensuring that her actions align with the values of her position.
