The Director General of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT), Chernor Mamoud Jalloh, has concluded a nationwide tour of the Trust\u2019s regional and district offices, as well as its investment facilities across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The tour took Mr Jalloh to NASSIT offices in Kono, Makeni, Port Loko, Moyamba, Bo and Kenema, where he assessed ground operations, engaged with staff and management, reviewed service delivery and inspected the Trust\u2019s investments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At each location, the Director General held discussions with regional and district staff, with particular emphasis on the Pension Administration System (PAS), which he described as the backbone of NASSIT\u2019s operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He encouraged staff to take ownership of the system and ensure its effective utilisation to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jalloh also highlighted the importance of quality service delivery in encouraging compliance with the national social security scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen NASSIT treats members, employers, and pensioners professionally, empathetically, and promptly, compliance becomes voluntary, making the scheme more appealing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Director General further outlined his vision of positioning NASSIT as an institution that commands national pride through sound management, financial strength, transparency and effective governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the Trust should be \u201cfinancially healthy, well-managed, transparent, and trusted, with clear governance policies and regular reporting to stakeholders.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jalloh also reaffirmed his commitment to fairness, equity and performance-based recognition, stressing that discipline and integrity would be recognised within the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of the tour, the Director General inspected NASSIT\u2019s investment facilities in the regions, including land banks, housing estates and plazas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He reviewed ongoing projects, occupancy rates and management systems and indicated that the Trust would undertake a comprehensive review of its existing investment strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Jalloh, the review is intended to ensure that NASSIT\u2019s investments remain prudent, sustainable and profitable while protecting the interests of contributors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe goal is to guarantee that all investments serve their purpose, are sustainable, and aligned with the best interests of the Scheme,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regional and District Managers also briefed the Director General on developments within their respective areas, including efforts to expand membership, improve compliance and strengthen customer service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Staff members used the engagements to identify operational challenges, propose areas for improvement and express their commitment to supporting the institution\u2019s objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The nationwide tour concluded at NASSIT\u2019s Eastern Regional Office in Kenema, where staff and management renewed their commitment to improving efficiency, strengthening service delivery and advancing the Trust\u2019s institutional goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The tour forms part of the Director General\u2019s efforts to assess NASSIT\u2019s operations, engage directly with its workforce and review the management of its investments across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
