The All People\u2019s Congress (APC) has announced a re-run of its Constituency 044 election in Kabala, Koinadugu District, following concerns raised over alleged over-voting during the recently conducted internal poll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision comes amid growing scrutiny of the conduct of the party\u2019s ongoing lower-level internal elections, with questions being raised by some party stakeholders about the credibility and management of the electoral process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Constituency 044 was among the APC constituencies scheduled to hold elections on September 15, following arrangements made by the party\u2019s National Secretariat after outstanding electoral matters and petitions delayed several polls. The designated voting centre was the APC Party Office in Kabala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The APC\u2019s Internal Election Management Committee has previously acknowledged concerns surrounding the Constituency 044 poll. Its Koinadugu District Coordinator, Umaru Jogor Barrie, responded to questions about disagreements and the handling of the electoral process during an interview with Our Kabala correspondent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The re-run is expected to provide the party with an opportunity to address the concerns surrounding the initial exercise and establish a fresh electoral outcome in the constituency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The development comes as the APC continues its broader internal electoral process, which has faced petitions, disputes and regulatory interventions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In July, the Political Parties Regulation Commission directed the party to improve transparency by publishing candidate and delegate lists ahead of constituency elections and ordered that polls should not proceed in areas where related ward-level petitions remained unresolved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
