There are moments in politics when we must pause, put aside personal differences and ask ourselves one simple question: What is the real intention behind a leader\u2019s actions?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me, when I look at the leadership of Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa, I see a man whose commitment to the Sierra Leone People\u2019s Party goes beyond personal ambition. I see a man who believes that the SLPP is bigger than any individual, bigger than any faction and bigger than any temporary political disagreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jimmy Batilo Songa\u2019s intentions for the SLPP and for Sierra Leone are, in my view, rooted in unity, discipline, peace, inclusiveness and service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not a time for hatred. It is not a time for personal vendettas. It is not a time for people to deliberately misinterpret every statement made by the National Chairman simply because they disagree with him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Politics will always produce disagreements. Ambition will always exist. Different opinions will always emerge. But disagreements must never become a justification for destroying the very institution we claim to love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SLPP has a proud political history and, as President Julius Maada Bio recently reminded party members, the party is greater than any one individual. The President also called for unity, discipline and preparedness as the party looks towards 2028.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That message should resonate with every genuine SLPP supporter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Batilo Is Trying, Not Destroying  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since assuming the position of National Chairman, Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa has repeatedly spoken about strengthening the party’s structures, engaging the grassroots, promoting discipline and improving internal organisation. The party has also been working on a new membership registration system intended to strengthen its database and grassroots engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are not the actions of someone who wants to see the SLPP weakened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A political party cannot survive on slogans alone. It needs strong structures. It needs committed members. It needs functioning branches and constituencies. It needs communication, discipline, financial sustainability and genuine grassroots participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is why the work of rebuilding and strengthening the SLPP must not be reduced to personalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SLPP must remain bigger than Jimmy Batilo Songa, just as it must remain bigger than any other individual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jimmy himself has described the party as founded on unity and progress and has emphasised grassroots engagement and collective discipline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
