<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\nAccording to the Executive Director of the Citizen Rights Network Sierra Leone, Mr. Ibrahim Bai Koroma, who highlighted the remarkable achievements of the SLCB, the bank has distinguished itself as a trusted, indigenous financial institution that continues to put the ordinary Sierra Leonean first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at the forum, Bai Koroma called on other civil society organisations and banking stakeholders present at the conference to encourage other banks across West Africa to follow the footprint of the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank, which he described as a source of inspiration and development for other banks in the sub-region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“SLCB has shown a local bank can compete, grow, and deliver excellent customer service while supporting national development. Other banks should learn from its role model, “Bai Koroma stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted that SLCB\u2019s commitment to financial inclusion, digital banking innovation, prompt customer service, and support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) has made it a household name in Sierra Leone and a reference point for good banking practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bai Koroma further disclosed that his organisation will soon be coming up with a banking initiative in Sierra Leone, aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and improved customer service in the banking sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The initiative, he said, will encourage other banks to copy the methods SLCB uses in its customer service delivery, including its open-door policy, community engagement, and investment in modern technology to make banking easier for ordinary citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participants at the symposium commended CRN-SL for recognizing excellence in the banking sector, noting that such recognition will motivate other financial institutions to improve their services and build public confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many delegates agreed that when banks serve the people well, it strengthens the economy, creates jobs, and promotes trust in the financial system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The engagement in Accra ended with a renewed call for West African banks to prioritize customers, embrace innovation, and contribute meaningfully to national development \u2014 just as the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank continues to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
