Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry could be heading towards a new chapter as Mohamed Malikie, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of World Blog Media (WBM), advances an ambitious vision to promote local talents and connect the country’s entertainment sector to international audiences.

Malikie believes Sierra Leone possesses enormous creative potential, with talented musicians, comedians, television presenters, athletes, cultural personalities and emerging entertainers capable of competing on the global stage. However, he maintains that the industry needs stronger platforms, strategic partnerships and sustained investment to give these talents the visibility and opportunities they deserve.

That vision is driving World Blog Media and its flagship initiative, WBM Judgement Day – Boxing Celebrity Match, an entertainment concept designed to bring together personalities from different sectors of society through sport, entertainment, culture and media.

According to Malikie, the initiative goes beyond organising a boxing event. It represents an opportunity to introduce a different dimension to Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry by creating a platform where celebrities, athletes, musicians, comedians, television presenters and other influential personalities can interact, showcase their abilities and connect with wider audiences.

He believes that entertainment should not be limited by geographical boundaries, arguing that Sierra Leonean talents deserve recognition beyond the country’s borders.

Through WBM Judgement Day, the organisation intends to create an entertainment experience that attracts attention across Africa, Europe, America and other parts of the world while promoting Sierra Leone’s cultural identity and creative potential.

The initiative also seeks to strengthen collaboration among entertainment practitioners, media institutions, businesses, sponsors, promoters, content creators and cultural organisations. Malikie believes that the growth of the industry requires collective commitment rather than the efforts of individuals or isolated organisations.

He further emphasised the importance of creating opportunities for young people, particularly those with interests in sports, music, comedy, media and other creative fields. He believes that properly developed entertainment platforms can help transform young people’s talents into sustainable careers, businesses and sources of employment.

For Malikie, the long-term ambition is to build an entertainment environment where Sierra Leonean personalities can attract international partnerships, develop professional networks and access opportunities within the global creative economy.

Reaffirming his determination as Founder and CEO of World Blog Media, Malikie said he remains committed to establishing platforms that give local talents greater recognition and exposure.

He maintained that with proper organisation, professionalism, creativity and collaboration, Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry can achieve greater international recognition.

WBM Judgement Day is therefore being positioned as one of the steps towards that broader ambition, using celebrity boxing as an avenue to unite different sectors and generate public interest in the country’s entertainment industry.

Ultimately, the vision of World Blog Media is not simply to organise an entertainment event but to establish a platform that promotes Sierra Leone’s talents, culture and creative identity to international audiences.

From Freetown to Africa and beyond, Malikie’s message is that Sierra Leone has the talent and creativity to become a stronger force in global entertainment.

As he puts it: “Our vision is to build an entertainment industry that does not only entertain Sierra Leone, but introduces Sierra Leone to the world.”
