In the evolving narrative of Sierra Leone’s development, few figures stand out as boldly and effectively as Manty Tarawallie, the current Minister of State, Office of the Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

Madam Manty Tarawallie is a distinguished development expert, politician, author, and relentless advocate for gender equality who has dedicated her life to transforming communities, influencing policy, and creating opportunities for women, girls, and young people.

Today, Manty Tarawallie is celebrated as one of Sierra Leone’s most respected female leaders. She was once the Minister of Social Welfare, Gender & Children Affairs in 2019-2023.

Madam Tarawallie is known for a unique leadership style that combines vision, compassion, and determination in the pursuit of national development.

Her journey is not just a career success story; it is a testament to the power of purpose-driven leadership.

Manty Tarawallie made history by becoming the first female Cabinet Minister from the twin districts of Falaba and Koinadugu. However, this milestone represents a seismic shift in the political landscape of Sierra Leone.

By occupying a seat at the highest circle of governance, she has shattered long-standing barriers and inspired countless young women to pursue leadership positions once considered beyond their reach.

Meanwhile, her entry into politics was not a quest for power, but a continuation of her lifelong mission to serve humanity for the seek of God.

Madam Tarawallie began her banking career before her entry into the political stage to Impact Social transformation.

Interestingly, Manty’s academic foundation was laid in the financial sector, earning her first degree in Banking and Finance. Like many ambitious young professionals, she initially sought a career that provided stability and growth.

However, while working in the banking industry, she began to question the kind of impact she truly wanted to make.

The banking environment exposed her to the realities of people’s lives and aspirations, but she soon came to a life-changing realization: true fulfillment came not simply from managing finances, but from helping to improve people’s lives.

However, that realization sparked a passion for development work that eventually led her to national leadership.

Determined to contribute more directly to social change, Manty transitioned into the development sector, building an impressive career in both Sierra Leone and the United Kingdom.

Before now, one of her most notable roles was serving as the Country Director of Marie Stopes Sierra Leone.

In this capacity, she worked tirelessly to improve access to reproductive and maternal health. Her leadership in this space was critical in ensuring that women and girls had access to quality healthcare and the information needed to make informed choices about their futures. This role cemented her reputation as a champion for women’s rights and a fierce advocate for the empowerment of marginalized groups.

Advancing Women’s Empowerment and Leadership, Manty Tarawallie’s impact goes beyond her job titles. She is widely recognized in advocacy work for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment.

Moreover, Madam Tarawallie has consistently used her platform to push for policies that protect and uplift women, ensuring they have a voice in decision-making processes.

Under Youth Mentorship, as an author and leader, she has dedicated time to nurturing and mentoring young people, encouraging them to take up leadership roles and contribute to national development.

At Community Transformation, her work has touched the lives of countless individuals in her home district of Koinadugu and beyond, focusing on sustainable development and social justice.

Most importantly, Mrs. Manty Tarawallie’s story is one of evolution, from a banker to a development expert, and finally to a groundbreaking political leader.

She stands as a beacon of hope for Sierra Leone, proving it with dedication and a heart for service, women can lead effectively and transform nations.
