The Government of Sierra Leone has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with So Afri Loge, marking a decisive step towards the construction of affordable housing units for civil and public servants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ceremony, held at the Sierra Leone Embassy in Dakar, was chaired by the Ambassador of Sierra Leone to Senegal, H.E Ibrahim Turay, who described the development as a powerful outcome of the President\u2019s economic diplomacy agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n

The MOU was signed on behalf of the Government by the Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, Dr. Turad Senesie, and the Minister of Political Affairs and Public Administration, Amara Kallon in the presence of senior government officials including the Chairman of the Public Service Commission, K.O. Bah, the Director of the Public Sector Reform Unit, Sulaiman Phoray-Musa, the Professional Head\/Director of Surveys and Lands, Tamba Dauda, and the Communication Specialist of the Sierra Leone Land Administration Project, Abdul Fonti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Delivering his statement at the event, Dr. Turad Senesie reiterated the Government\u2019s readiness to accelerate the partnership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWith this MOU, we are not only pledging land and tax incentives but also our full institutional support. We are committed to moving with speed to the Joint Venture Agreement, secure cabinet and parliamentary endorsement, and ensure that work can commence without delay. Housing our workforce decently and affordably is a matter of national priority,\u201d the Lands Minister stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minister Amara Kallon stressed that the initiative he is championing is firmly anchored in the broader public sector reform agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis project translates our policy commitment into action. When civil servants have secure and dignified homes, their motivation and output rise, and the entire public service benefits. We will work tirelessly with So Afri Loge to complete the JVA and all statutory approvals so that ground can be broken in the shortest possible time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So Afri Loge\u2019s senior management conveyed the company\u2019s enthusiasm and readiness to deliver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are fully aligned with the vision of the Sierra Leone Government. Our team is prepared to move immediately to the joint venture agreement phase, finalise designs and financing, and start construction as soon as all processes are cleared. This is a partnership built on speed, transparency, and a shared goal of transforming lives through quality housing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chairman of the ceremony, Sierra Leone\u2019s Ambassador to Senegal, expressed profound satisfaction with the milestone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am happy that our economic diplomacy agenda is working well,\u201d he said. \u201cAttracting transformative investments like this housing project is precisely what we set out to achieve. I will continue to support the process to ensure it reaches cabinet and parliament expeditiously.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Public Sector Reform Unit Director, Sulaiman Phoray-Musa, echoed the sentiment, noting that decent housing is integral to restoring the dignity and pride of public service and will contribute significantly to improved productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the MOU now in place, both parties have committed to a timeline for finalising the Joint Venture Agreement and securing the necessary legal and parliamentary endorsements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
