A cross-section of the Southern Region Traders Union has together with other stakeholders in the south paid a courtesy call at the residence of Alhaji Kanja Sesay to check on his wellbeing and to tell him that they as stakeholders and the entire people of southern region still have him in their hearts.
It could be recalled that Alhaji Kanja Sesay left the shores of Sierra Leone some months ago on medical grounds. He has since returned to the country.
The Traders Union members presented their executive members to Alhaji Dr Kanja Sesay and thanked him for his commitment to seeing the development of Bo and the entire southern region.
They said that they so missed Pa Kanja during his time in America but wished him a speedy and complete recovery and a quick return to Bo, where thousands of people in Bo are facing hardship, and they forward to his assistance.
Responding, Alhaji Dr Kanja Sesay thanked the visitors for the concern displayed. He recalled how the people in the southern region have positively contributed to his political career, noting that it was they who made it possible for him to serve as district chairman for the longest period before becoming Regional Chairman.
He said he was pleased to receive the new Chairperson of the Bo District Traders Union, while commended her for fighting a brave fight at the 2023 polls.
He assured that he will travel to Bo within the shortest possible time and called on all in the region to remain united and focused and to rally behind the government of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio.
