The people of Kambia District have expressed deep disappointment and frustration with Hon. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella (KKY) for what they describe as his failure to deliver on the many promises he made to them.
Once hailed as the district’s pride and a symbol of hope for progress, KKY now faces growing criticism from constituents who feel neglected and left behind.
Residents say they had high expectations when KKY pledged to bring tangible development projects to Kambia, including improved electricity supply, better roads, and increased job opportunities for young people. However, years later, many of those promises remain unfulfilled, leaving citizens disillusioned and questioning his commitment to their welfare.
During recent public gatherings, community members voiced their anger, citing poor infrastructure, lack of basic amenities, and unkept assurances. “We believed in him because he was one of us, but he has failed to meet the expectations of the people who trusted him,” one resident lamented.
As discontent grows, political observers say KKY’s influence in Kambia could be at risk if he fails to reconnect with his base and take visible steps to redeem his image. For now, the message from Kambia is clear — the people are tired of promises without action.
