Leone Rock Metal Group Donates Six Laptops and Three Drones to Office of National Security

In a significant gesture of collaboration for national security and technological advancement, LRMG, the leading mining company in Sierra Leone, has donated six laptops and three high-performance drones to the Office of National Security (ONS). The donation ceremony, held at the ONS headquarters, was attended by representatives from both LRMG and the ONS, along with various government stakeholders. The donation is part of LRMG’s ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility, economic security and national support. By providing these advanced technological tools, the company aims to enhance the operational efficiency and capability of the ONS in maintaining national security and managing emergency responses.

Salim Sillah, Chief Technical Officer, LRMG informed all that the six laptops are equipped with the latest software and security features, enabling the ONS to improve its data management, communication, and operational planning. These devices will support various departments within the ONS, facilitating better coordination and execution of security measures.

The three drones, designed for high-resolution aerial surveillance and reconnaissance, will significantly boost the ONS’s capabilities in monitoring and responding to security threats. These drones will be instrumental in conducting aerial surveys, gathering real-time intelligence, and aiding in disaster management and relief efforts.

He continued to express the company’s dedication to supporting national initiatives that ensure the safety and well-being of Sierra Leone’s citizens. “We believe that by equipping the ONS with these advanced tools, we are contributing to a safer and more secure Sierra Leone. Our company is committed to fostering a strong partnership with the ONS and other national institutions,” Mr Sillah stated. The National Security Coordinator, Abdul Avayama Coker, thanked LRMG for its crucial support to national security and stability. “The ONS is represented in the 16 districts and this donation comes at a crucial time when there is a need for such sophisticated technology tools in our operations. The laptops and drones will enhance our capacity to monitor and respond to threats more effectively. We are grateful for the support from LRMG and our beneficiaries will be from those in these remote communities.

The symbolic handing over of the items was done by Peter Peng, Public Relations Manager LRMG who also thanked the ONS for ensuring the country’s security is protected and hoped for continued collaboration with the ONS.
