Leone Rock Metal Group Makes a Big Impact on World Children’s Day: Donates NLe 197,400 Worth of School Supplies to Port Loko District

Ahead of the celebration of World Children’s Day, Leone Rock Metal Group (LRMG) has stepped forward to support the children of Sierra Leone. LRMG, donated NLe 15,000 along with 300 school bags, 300 packets of books, 300 geometry sets, 300 packets of pens, and 300 packets of pencils to the Port Loko District Council. The total value of these items amounts to NLe 197,400.

This act comes in line with the theme of this year’s World Children’s Day celebration: “Investing in our future means investing in our children.” The Chairman of the Port Loko District Council, Sheku Tejan Saccoh, graciously received the donation on behalf of the district and extended heartfelt thanks to LRMG. He highlighted the fact that Mange Town, Bureh Chiefdom, where the beneficiaries of these donations are located, is a deprived community. Education holds the second-highest priority in the government’s agenda, and LRMG has consistently supported this initiative across the country.

LRMG, known for their commitment to promoting safe education for children in Sierra Leone, has undertaken numerous educational projects in the past. Alhaji Turay, the Community and Security Manager of LRMG, shared details about the company’s dedication to this cause during the donation ceremony. He emphasized the responsibility LRMG feels towards Port Loko as the host community for their subsidiary. Giving back to the community, especially in terms of education, is of utmost importance to the company.

The impact of LRMG’s gesture cannot be overstated. Hundreds of children in the Port Loko district will benefit from the school supplies. Recognizing the significance of LRMG’s contributions, the Chairman of the Port Loko District Council presented a certificate of appreciation to LRMG for their invaluable services and contributions to the community. The council also expressed its commitment to supporting the activities of LRMG, acknowledging the positive influence the company has had on the district.

As World Children’s Day is celebrated, it is a reminder that investing in our children is pivotal for a brighter future. The district and the government commend LRMG for their efforts and urge continued support towards the betterment of education in Sierra Leone.
