Information gathered by this newspaper have revealed that Mohamed Bami who was residing at Portee community in the east end of Freetown is on the run fearing for the safety of his life after he was declared wanted by the Sierra Leone police on accusation that he and his family members involved in the protest against the Government on August 10, 2022, in which Sierra Leoneans including six police officers were killed, hundreds other wounded, police stations and houses burnt down, and properties worth thousands of Leones looted and destroyed.
Sources disclosed that Mohamed Bami’s uncle was killed at their premises at Portee when Police went there and alleged that he was one of leaders in the said community that rise against the Government.
Investigations carried out also revealed that on August 10, the day of the violent uprising in Freetown, heavily armed police officers and soldiers stormed his uncle’s premise and attacked some family members but Bami went into hiding and he has not returned home, nor has he been located in any Police station in Freetown.
He is wanted by the police for subversive activities, incitement, riotous conduct, looting, and other related crimes for which he will be sentenced to life in prison.
Meanwhile, the search for Bami continues all over the country, with a reward of thousands of Leones promised to be given to anybody who will give information to the Police that will lead to his arrest.
