The Ministry of Information and Civic Education (MoICE) is set to host the second edition of its Civic Content Creator Program and the launch of its second Salone Civic Center, as it prepares to roll out the upcoming Salone Civic Festival from 11th to 13th December 2025 at the Miatta Conference Center, Brookfields in Freetown.
The three-day event will bring together young content creators, civic educators, government officials and development partners to promote civic engagement, digital literacy and responsible citizenship.
According to the Ministry, this second edition aims to empower Sierra Leonean youths to use creative content to foster civic awareness, national pride and positive storytelling.
Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor A. Bah, said the program reflects government’s continued commitment to building an informed and active citizenry.
“We want to build a generation of civic leaders and digital creators who will use their platforms to inspire unity, integrity, and patriotism,” Minister Bah stated.
The December event will feature training workshops, exhibitions and interactive sessions, setting the stage for the Salone Civic Festival official launch — a celebration of civic innovation and youth participation across Sierra Leone.
The initiative is being organized in partnership with UNDP, UNESCO, the AFRICELL Impact Foundation and several local media institutions, reaffirming MoICE’s commitment to collaboration in strengthening civic education and national development.
