NASSIT Awards 22 Compliant Employers.

The National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) on Thursday 11th December, 2025 presented prestigious awards to twenty-two employers/companies that are foremost compliant in paying contributions of their employees and are diligently respecting all NASSIT rules and regulations.

Chairman of the occasion, President of Sierra Leone Employers Federation (SLEF), Kobi Walker informed his audience which included awardees, NASSIT Management and Board, staff of NASSIT, journalists and invited guests that NASSIT takes pride in annually recognizing employers who are compliant and make it their duty to pay the monthly contributions of their employees as the NASSIT Act mandates.

Taking the podium to make his presentation, the Director General of NASSIT, Mohamed Fuuad Daboh thanked the awardees for being compliant. He used the opportunity to urge employers who are violating the NASSIT Act by not regularly paying monthly contributions of their employees to start doing so immediately or get ready to face the law. He reminded them that there is a special NASSSIT Court to try defaulters.

In his keynote address, Minister of Employment, Labour and Social Security, Mohamed Rahman Swaray, spoke highly of NASSIT and its tremendous contributions to the socio-economic fabric of the country. He maintained that since the establishment of NASSIT, it has made significant progress but stressed that under the administration of Mohamed Fuuad Daboh, the institution has made sterling steps in creating a scheme for the informal sector.

Mr. Swaray used the opportunity to prevail on the informal sector to take this very seriously because it is the surest way they can be rest assured that when they are not able to work in their old age for one reason or the other, they can live the rest of their lives in comfort because they are contributing to the scheme.

The NASSIT Employers Banquet and Awards Ceremony climaxed with the distribution of awards to Rokel Commercial Bank, Direct Aid Sierra Leone, Bank of Sierra Leone, Freetown International Airport Limited, Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority, We Build SPA, New Harvest Ministries, Rainbow Paints and Chemicals Limited, Sierra Leone Education Association (Small Scale Project), Lion Heart Medical Centre, Rain Forest Builders (SL) Limited, Focus Business Solutions (SL) limited, Sierra Leone Football Association, Network Movement for Justice and Development, Golden Lion Mining Company, Conex Energy (SL) limited, Fourah Bay College, Social Enterprise Development Foundation, CTC Logistics, Road Maintenance Fund Administration, CTC Mining (SL) Limited and Gola Forest Conservation Concession Programme.

The Minister also used the opportunity to prevail on other employers to comply with the NASSIT Act and pay contributions of their employees, adding that failure to comply attracts legal consequences which could be more expensive than complying with the NASSIT Act.
