The National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone (NOCSLE) is proudly participating in the ongoing National Olympic Committees (NOC) Forum currently underway in Cairo, Egypt. The high-level forum brings together representatives from NOCs across the globe to engage with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) on the rollout of the new Olympic Solidarity Plan for the 2025–2028 quadrennial.
Representing Sierra Leone at this prestigious gathering are Mr. Bai Bangura, Project Manager in charge of Olympic Solidarity programs at NOCSLE, and Mr. Martin Momoh Bangura, Head of the Legal and Ethics Commission on the NOCSLE Executive Board. Their presence marks Sierra Leone’s active commitment to aligning with international best practices and contributing to the global Olympic movement.

The Olympic Solidarity Plan 2025–2028, a cornerstone of the discussions at the forum, aims to provide targeted financial, technical, and educational support to National Olympic Committees, particularly those with more limited resources. The plan’s mission is to strengthen the capacity of NOCs to support athletes and promote the Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect within their respective countries.
The participation of NOCSLE in such international forums is a reflection of its growing strategic focus on elevating sports development in Sierra Leone through improved governance, inclusive programming, and robust international partnerships.
As the forum continues, the insights and connections gained are expected to significantly influence the planning and execution of Olympic-related activities in Sierra Leone over the next four years. The NOCSLE delegation is expected to return home with renewed vigor and strategic direction to strengthen the country’s Olympic movement, empower local athletes, and promote the Olympic spirit across communities nationwide.
