NPRA Boss Highlights Highpoints of Achievements

The Director General of the National Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NPRA) has said since he assumed the leadership at NPRA, he has opened more markets space in the petroleum industry.

He was speaking at the weekly press conference organized by the Ministry of Information and Civic Education held on Tuesday 15th July 2025, held at the Ministry’s Conference Room at Youyi building in Freetown.

He further pointed out that his institution has developed downstream storage. He added that he has removed all barriers in the petroleum markets.

DG Baluwa said the prices of oil is tied to the geopolitics affecting the market prices.

The NPRA boss passionate appealed for an oil company to be establish in the country. ‘’Sierra Leone is the only country in West Africa without an oil company.

His contribution Chief of Defence Staff of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces, Lt. General Amara Idera Bangura disclosed to journalists his achievements just 100 days in office.

Lt. General Bangura said he has created a roadmap to develop and uplift RSALF. He added that he has conducted workshops across the country. ‘’I am doing this to create a new engine and outlook for the RSLAF.

He said RSLAF is currently engaging in developmental projects such as cashew cultivation, rice cultivation, and construction of feed roads and has upgraded the Murray Town barracks road.

The Chief of Defense Staff further spoke on plans underway to improve RSLAF welfare, adding that RSLAF will soon embark on the contruction of estate for civilians.

He also disclosed that by 2027, his administration will produce rice for the military’s consumption.
