In a case involving alleged breach of trust and fraud, Magistrate Mamakoh Saio Kallon has committed Mohamed Fofanah, commonly known as “White Boy,” to stand trial at the High Court on charges of fraudulent conversion, contrary to Section 20(1)(iv) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of the offence, on Friday, 18th April 2025, at No. 28 ECOWAS Street in Freetown, the accused was entrusted with four bales of breast summer wear (commonly known as brassieres), valued at fourteen thousand Leones (Le14,000). The items were reportedly given to him for safekeeping by Aminata Sesay of No. 13B Saw-Mess Lane, Off Low-Cost, Freetown.
In her report to police, Aminata Sesay alleged that the accused converted the goods to his own use and benefit shortly after receiving them.
Following statements from the complainant and further police investigations, Magistrate Kallon ruled that there was sufficient evidence for the matter to proceed to the High Court for full trial.
She emphasized the importance of trust in business transactions and warned that anyone who abuses that trust must be held accountable under the law.
