Saidatu Halima Bangura, a student of Fourah Bay College (FBC), University of Sierra Leone, appeared again before Magistrate Samuel Koroma at Pademba Road Court No. 4 in Freetown, where she is facing two charges Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and Public Insult and Provocation.
The charges stem from an incident on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at No. 38 Angola, off Fort Street, where Bangura allegedly assaulted Isha Abdul Ghodal Deen-Sie, a petty trader, and used insulting language in public intended to provoke a breach of the peace.
Testifying in court, the complainant, Deen-Sie, stated that she visited the home of the accused’s father to report what she called “mischievous behavior” by Bangura. She alleged that upon arrival, the accused confronted her with verbal abuse “Raray girl Tablique” and physically pushed her, causing injuries. Deen-Sie further claimed that Bangura made cruel remarks about her personal life, including her inability to bear children, her marital status, and even referenced the death of her two children, all in the presence of family members.
Defense counsel F.A. Lewis renewed a previous bail application. Magistrate Koroma ruled that the bail for the accused would continue. The case was adjourned to August 14, 2025, for further hearing.
