In a remarkable display of skill, determination, and unity, the team won all seven of their matches, culminating in a commanding 39-run victory over the host nation in the final.

This exceptional achievement not only highlights the team’s dedication and talent but also serves as a moment of pride for the entire nation.
“This is a remarkable record—not just for you as women, but for Sierra Leone as a whole,” said Minister Teima. “Your hard work, discipline, commitment, and teamwork have earned you this historic victory.”

The Minister extened special recognition to Anne Marie and Monica Kamara for their outstanding individual performances throughout the tournament. She also commended the team captain, Aminata Kamara, for the exemplary leadership she displayed in guiding the team to success.

As Sierra Leone celebrates its 64th Independence Anniversary, this victory serves as a powerful symbol of national unity, pride, and progress. It reflects the resilience and determination of Sierra Leonean women and reaffirms the country’s potential in global sports.

Minister Teima also took the opportunity to applaud the national Under-20 football team for their impressive 4–1 victory over host nation Egypt, further showcasing the strength and talent of Sierra Leonean athletes across the sports disciplines.
“These victories are a testament to what we can achieve when we invest in our youth and support sports development,” the Minister concluded.
