The Sierra Leone Ports and Harbors Authority (SLPHA) Corporate Affairs team has reacted to rumors going viral on both social and traditional media that a forty-feet container loaded with kush along with chemicals and other materials used in the production of kush has mysteriously gone missing at the Queen Elizabeth II Quay in Cline Town, Freetown.
According to the SLPHA Corporate Affairs team that spoke to Daybreak, he said: “We actually don’t know where the story of a missing container at the quay is coming from.”
The team lead said it is not to their knowledge that any container has mysteriously gone missing at the quay.
“It’s only a figment of the imagination of people wrongly accusing our institution of being involved in kush trafficking with the intention to stain the reputation of the institution and our Director General who has worked tirelessly in transforming the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbors Authority (SLPHA),” one of the team member asserted.
The team challenged those championing the container allegations to produce authentic evidence that will convince the public that their claims are factual.
“No one will succeed in bringing down the Director General, Askia Bio, by tarnishing his reputation because of political gains,” the team said.
The team however assured the general public that no container loaded with kush and other materials has gone missing at Water Quay, noting that it is unscrupulous people at home and abroad who have made up the story for political gain.
