Giving what is transpiring in our national government, citizens have confided in this medium that President Bio is a national healer for keeping the country peaceful despite the huge electoral impasse that is affecting how the government of Sierra Leone is presently performing and events in the West Africa region.
For a very long time the nation has been divided along political, tribal and regional divides that have resulted to the skewing of how governments of the past shared the public service jobs that are on the offing with the ushering of a new regime after an election process.
In light of what is also transpiring in the region with many national governments falling to coupists in the national armies across the Sahel, President Bio has managed to maintain the peace. His able police chief has also been praised for the speed and dedication with which they arrested all those suspected of wanting to reverse the country back to our warring years.
‘President Bio is the only one that can heal the present divide. Look at how he has hired people this his second term. We see that all regions and tribes and political ideologies represented. This is how our civil service should look going forward. We see in Bio a leader with a national unity agenda that has hired people that can get the job done and at the optimal level.’
This medium was informed that Sierra Leone has never had a serious tribal conflict evidenced by the people intermarrying, with Muslims and Christians routinely getting married.
‘The only time the nation is reminded of her tribal or regional affiliation and allegiances or divides is during the elections cycle of our political process. President Bio has encouraged all the citizens of this land to consider the country as their tribe. President Bio has done all in his power to remove tribalism from the public domain by retaining hardworking and civil servants with the history and knowledge of the job regardless of where they are from and what political party they belong to. This is the second term cabinet that people are boasting about as it addresses all our human resources issues of the past. We see more women, more youth and serious reaching out to the opposition with the olive branch.’
We were told that as a leader President Bio shows great respect for the rule of law and for the right and proper procedure for handling public matters.
‘Since the president shows himself as being under the law the nation will follow suit. We will soon see prices return to their normal levels. The president is set to heal the divide that has been created by the runaway hikes in the prices of our bread and butter needs and the ever rising US dollar currency against the leone. The president will maintain a low level of inflation and increase our potential for exporting and being a price giver instead of a taker on the international market,’ they said.
