QCell CEO Unveils Educational Support Package

In a groundbreaking move to promote academic excellence and empower the next generation, the Chief Executive Officer of QCell has pledged a new three-year sponsorship initiative targeting students from Koindu.

Speaking during the announcement, the QCell CEO expressed his company’s deep commitment to education and youth empowerment. “We are pleased to announce a new three-year sponsorship initiative for the students from Koindu, starting this year, to support academic excellence. Under this program, the top five students each year will receive a sponsorship award of Le 5,000 each. This commitment reflects our continued investment in the future of education and youth empowerment,” he said.

The initiative, which will run from 2025 through 2027, is designed to reward hard work, encourage healthy competition among students, and ease the financial burden on families striving to provide quality education for their children. By recognizing and supporting the best-performing students annually, QCell hopes to inspire a culture of excellence that will ripple across the entire community.

Education stakeholders in Koindu have welcomed the announcement with excitement, describing it as a bold step that will not only support the beneficiaries but also motivate others to aim higher in their studies. Parents and school administrators also commended QCell for prioritizing education in a region where financial constraints often limit opportunities for brilliant students.

This latest initiative adds to QCell’s growing portfolio of corporate social responsibility programs, reaffirming the company’s vision of contributing positively to national development beyond its role as a leading telecom operator.

With this pledge, QCell has once again demonstrated that corporate institutions have a crucial role to play in shaping the future of Sierra Leone by investing in its greatest asset — the youth.
